What is Semaglutide?
Semaglutide is the first of a new generation of highly effective obesity medications. Semaglutide mimics a hormone called glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), which is secreted in the gut and targets receptors throughout the body, including the brain. One way Semaglutide works is by signaling to the brain you are not hungry, causing you to eat less and reduce cravings for food. Semaglutide also decreases “gastric emptying,” the process by which stomach contents are moved into the first part of the small intestine as part of the digestive process resulting in you feeling full for a longer period of time.
GLP-1 medications are clinically proven to be the MOST effective medications for long term weight loss. They are not stimulants and non habit forming. Semaglutide is a member of the class of medications that has been used for diabetes management for over a decade. Semaglutide appears to be “Best In Class” for weight loss and was approved for weight loss by the FDA under the brand name Wegovy.

Our Semaglutide Program
On your initial consultation with the physician you will review your previous medical and family history and complete a brief physical exam to determine eligibility.
The starting dose for Semaglutide is typically 0.25mg, which is injected into the abdomen once a week. Starting at a lower dose is meant to avoid possible side effects such as abdominal discomfort, nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, feeling bloated, and gas. Most patients tolerate Semaglutide well without significant side effects. Each month we will monitor your progress and adjust the dose as needed.
Often times, patients find they are able to stay at an effective dose for longer than a month and still experience meaningful weight loss.
Program Pricing
Our Semaglutide program is monthly, and the price is dependent on the dose range you are in. The program will increase in price as the dose increases. For most patients the price will increase every other month when the program is followed as scheduled. Each price range will include two dose steps. Our goal is to offer patients more flexibility and transparency in our pricing.
Getting Started
When starting our weight loss program, we have all patients begin with blood work to establish a general health baseline. This blood work is performed at your nearest Lab Corp. Our labs are $150 and this fee covers your blood work as well as the initial consult with our physician.
Once we receive your lab result we will schedule your initial consultation with our physician to review your lab results. If you decide you would like to start the program you are able to on this first consult. The first month will be $300 and you will receive a month of the medication.
